Do not press out silent blocks with hammer blows, as this can damage the surface of the seating slots in the suspension beam.
Using a clamp-type device, press in new silent blocks to the stop so that the rubber-metal segment of the inner silent block faces the front of the car, and the rubber-metal segment of the outer silent block faces the rear of the car.
Reinstall the beam mounting bracket, screw the mounting bolt and tighten it to a torque of 7 kgf·m. Before tightening the bolt, make sure that the mating surface of the bracket with the body is at an angle of 13°30'±1°relative to the suspension beam. Install the suspension beam, install the bolts for fastening the lower ends of the shock absorbers, lower the car, tighten the bolts for fastening the lower ends of the shock absorbers to a torque of 10.5 kgf·m and check the rear wheel alignment angles.
The alignment angles of the rear wheels on an equipped vehicle, with normal tire pressure, in the absence of excessive play in the rear suspension units, should have the following values:
- camber: -1°40'±20';
- maximum allowable camber angle difference between right and left wheel: 30';
- convergence: 25'±15'.
On vehicles from chassis no. 31 LE 222 111 and 31 LB 108 393, the rear wheel alignment has the following values:
- camber: 1°30'±10';
- maximum allowable camber angle difference between right and left wheel: 20';
- convergence: +20'±10';
- maximum allowable deviation from the rolling path of the wheel: 20'.
The rear wheel alignment angles are not adjustable If one of the alignment angles does not match, replace the corresponding rear suspension unit. Checking the angles of installation of the rear wheels is carried out on a car in running order. Make sure before checking. that the dimensions, the degree of tire wear and the pressure in them are the same for both wheels, that the silent blocks of the rear suspension have no play. Eliminate the end runout of the wheel rims.
Checking the angles is carried out on a stand for checking the angles of the front wheels.
