Conventional suspension. The rear suspension is semi-independent, with longitudinal levers, with hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers of double action, helical cylindrical springs and an anti-roll bar. The suspension springs are marked with color marks (Table 5-2). Both springs of the rear suspension of the car must have the same color marks.

Hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers of the Vode or Sachs brand, double-acting, non-separable design. The ends of the anti-roll bar are welded to the suspension arms. The diameters of the anti-roll bars are given in Table 5-3. Air suspension. Upon request, station wagons are equipped with a rear suspension with air shock absorbers, a body position regulator, with longitudinal arms elastically connected by a cross beam. Air telescopic shock absorbers of the Monroe brand, double-acting, non-separable design. A sensor for adjusting the body position by height is installed on the left shock absorber.

Note: Only air shock absorbers with a body position regulator sensor and a sensor wire are supplied as spare parts. When replacing the right shock absorber, cut the sensor wire at the shock absorber body on the new shock absorber.

The air compressor, switched on and off by the electronic control unit, is mounted on the mudguard of the left rear wing inside the luggage compartment. The control unit, located next to the compressor, switches the compressor on and off depending on the signals from the body position regulator sensor. The rear wheel hub, made integral with the brake drum or disc depending on the vehicle configuration, is mounted on two tapered roller bearings.
The rear suspension parts with hydraulic and pneumatic shock absorbers are shown in Fig. 5-6 and 5-9.
