General information about the rear suspension (VW Transporter T4)

The rear axle wheels are connected to the body via diagonal arms of the independent suspension. The shock absorbers are located in front of the axle under the boot floor.

In combination with short coil springs, this design allows for very small wheel wells and an exceptionally low boot floor.

Attention! Welding and straightening work on the rear suspension is not allowed.
