The cylinder head bolts are tightened in three passes in a sequence from 1 to 10 (see illustration 9.0a).

When performing the 1st pass, the bolts are tightened by applying a force of 40 Nm.

During the second pass, the bolts are turned by 90° (1/4 turn).

At 90° (1/4 turn) the bolts are tightened further during the 3rd pass.

Cylinder head. Cars with 1.6 litre petrol engine, 74 kW (102 hp) BGU/BSE/BSF

1 - bolt. Tightening torque 23 Nm. Before installation, the bolt should be lubricated with protective paste
2 - camshaft gear
3 - bolt Tightening torque 100Nm
4 - bolt. Tightening torque 10 Nm. Before installation, the bolt should be lubricated with protective paste
5 - rear protective cover of the timing drive
6 - mounting sleeve
7 - sealing ring. To be replaced after each dismantling
8 - bolt. Tightening torque 10 Nm
9 - ventilation pipe
10 - special bolt with spacer sleeve for fastening the cylinder head cover. If damaged or leaking, the bolt must be replaced
11 - sealing ring. If damaged or leaking, the sealing ring must be replaced
12 - oil filler cap
13 - cylinder head cover. To remove the cover, unscrew the mounting bolts in a spiral pattern, starting with the bolts on the outside and moving to the inside. When installing the cover, tighten the bolts in a spiral pattern, working from the inside to the outside.
14 - cylinder head cover sealing gasket. The gasket should be secured to the spacer sleeves of the mounting bolts. If damaged or leaking, the gasket should be replaced.
15 - cylinder head bolt.
16 - bolt. Tightening torque 10 Nm
17 - Hall sensor
18 - O-ring. To be replaced after each dismantling 19 - cylinder head Maximum permissible distortion is 0.1 mm. When installing a new cylinder head, fresh fluid should be added to the cooling system Minimum height of the cylinder head is 132.9 mm
20 - connecting pipe
21 - bolt. Tightening torque 10 Nm
22 - O-ring. To be replaced after each dismantling
23 - Cylinder head gasket. When installing a new cylinder head gasket, fresh fluid should be added to the cooling system. When installing the gasket, the side with the part number should face the cylinder head. This number on the installed gasket should be legible when viewed from the intake valve side
