Removal instructions:
Note: Removal and installation instructions apply to both 1.2L engines.
Remove the engine together with the gearbox. In a car with an air conditioning system, put aside the lock beam, radiator and condenser. Do not open the refrigerant circulation circuit.
Disconnect the gearbox.
AZQ engine: remove thermostat housing.
Remove the poly V-belt.
Loosen the coolant pump pulley fastening.
Remove the belt drive tensioner.
Remove the tension roller.
Remove the generator.
Remove the air conditioning compressor and set it aside with the hoses attached.
Remove the crankshaft pulley.
Remove the engine oil level/temperature sensor.
Remove the engine oil dipstick/pan.
Remove the timing chain housing cover.
Remove the intake manifold.
Remove the cylinder head cover or, respectively, the camshaft housing.
Remove the fuel manifold and injectors.
Disconnect all hoses: vacuum, coolant and intake air.
Unscrew the exhaust pipe fastening to the exhaust branch pipe.
AZQ engine: unscrew the eye fastening in the oil filler hole area.
Loosen the cylinder head mounting bolts in the reverse order to that shown below in Figure N15-0522.
Installation instructions.
1-2 — bolts 6, 10 Nm + 90° (¼ turn)
Tighten from the inside out.

Grease the work surface.
When installing, secure to the hydraulic compensator with a locking bracket.

Tightening torque for AWY engine with a displacement of 1.2 l: 20 Nm + 90°.

The installation position corresponds to position "1" in figure N13-0758.
