Always replace the bolt with a new one.
Tighten in sequence from outside to inside.

Only for BBY/BBZ engine.
7 - bolts, 10 Nm
8 - check valve
Only for BBY/BBZ engine.
9 - hose to the air filter
Only for BBY/BBZ engine.
10 — camshaft housing
Remove any remaining old sealant.
Before installation, apply sealant VW-D188003A1, see below figure N15-0075. When installing, carefully move vertically from top to bottom and place on studs and guide pins.

Check the roller bearing for ease of movement. Lubricate the working surface. When installing, secure it to the compensating support element using a locking bracket.

Do not swap positions during installation.
With hydraulic valve drive clearance compensator. Lubricate the working surface.
15 — cylinder head mounting bolt
Always replace the bolt with a new one.

Tighten the cylinder head bolts in three stages. In each stage, tighten the bolts in sequence from 1 to 10.
Reception 1: 30 Nm
Step 2: Tighten in the tightening direction by 90 (¼ turn)
Step 3: Tighten in the tightening direction by 90 (¼ turn)

Always replace with a new one. After replacement, change all coolant.

Sealing surface of the camshaft housing

Apply sealant thinly and evenly to the clean sealing surface of the camshaft housing (highlighted in gray). Caution: When applying a thick layer of sealant, it will get into the oil channels, causing damage to the engine.
