1 - Upper timing belt casing
2 - bolt, 20 Nm + 90° (¼ turn) in tightening direction
Always replace the bolt with a new one.
Requires VW-T1001 B clamp for releasing and tightening.
3 — camshaft gear
The fixing holes in the camshaft gears must match the mounting holes in the camshaft housing.
4 — tension roller of the connecting toothed belt
5 - connecting toothed belt
Before removing, mark the direction of travel on the belt.
Check the toothed belt for wear, do not break it.
6 — bracket
7 — bolt, 10 Nm
8 — coolant pump
In case of damage or leakage, replace as a set.
9 — Bracket for coolant pump
10 — bolt, 20 Nm
11 — bolt, 50 Nm
12 — guide roller of the main toothed belt
13 — tension roller of the main toothed belt
14 — crankshaft gear
TDC position: the beveled tooth must coincide with the mark on the oil pump housing.
15 - main toothed belt
Before removing, mark the direction of movement on the belt. Check the toothed belt for wear, do not break it.
16 — bolt, 12 Nm
Always replace the bolt with a new one.
17 — crankshaft belt pulley
Installation is possible only in one position.
18 — bolt, 90 Nm + 90° (¼ turn) in tightening direction
Always replace the bolt with a new one, lubricate before installation. The 90° turn can be done in several steps. The angle of the turn can be measured using a standard protractor, such as HAZET 6690.
19 - poly V-belt
Before removing, mark the direction of movement on the belt. Check the poly V-belt for wear, do not break it.
20 — lower toothed belt casing
21 — engine bracket
22 — bolt, 50 Nm
Always replace the bolt with a new one.
23 — bolt, 25 Nm
