- 5 - tension roller
- 6 - fastening nut, 45 Nm
- 7 - rear toothed belt protective screen
- 8 — bolt, 20 Nm
- 9 - V-belt
Check tension by pressing with your thumb. Generator V-belt deflection: new belt - about 2 mm; used belt - approximately 5 mm. The deflection of the V-belt for driving additional units is approximately 10 mm.
- 10 — crankshaft belt pulley
When installing, pay attention to the fixation. The torsional vibration damper can only be installed in one position, since the holes are offset.
- 11 — bolt, 25 Nm
- 12 — lower toothed belt casing
- 13 — crankshaft gear
- 14 — bolt
Lubricate before installation. Pay attention to the tightening torque:
- hexagon head bolt: 180 Nm,
- 12-point head bolt: 90 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°).
The subsequent tightening of the bolt can be done in several stages. It is only important that the angle of 90° is maintained. The bolt with a 12-sided head must always be replaced, in addition, the washer shown in the figure is not used together with it. The VW-3Q99 counter clamp is required for loosening and tightening.
