Weakening
Remove the upper belt guard.
Place a wrench, such as HAZET 2587, on the tension roller.
Loosen the tension roller mounting nut with a ring spanner.
Loosen the timing belt by turning the tension roller to the left.

Tension
Rotate the tension roller to the right - in the direction of the arrow - and tighten the toothed belt.
The toothed belt in the middle between the camshaft and intermediate shaft gears, clamped between the thumb and forefinger, should still turn 90°.
Tighten the tension roller mounting nut to a torque of 45 Nm.
Install the upper timing belt guard.
Start the engine. A whistling noise when the belt is running indicates that it is too tight.
