• 1 - camshaft sprocket
• 2 — coupling for ignition distributor
• 3 — bolt, 100 Nm
• 4 — axle, 25 Nm
• 5 — tensioner bar
• 6 - tensioner for double-row roller chain, 30 Nm
• 7 - double-row roller chain
• 8 - sprocket for double-row roller chain
• 9 - Sprocket for single-row roller chain
• 10 - chain tensioner with bar
• 11 — bolt, 10 Nm
• 12 - leading sprocket

Mounted on the crankshaft. When the ground tooth is positioned opposite the bearing mating slot, the crankshaft is in the TDC position for cylinder 1.

• 13 - single row roller chain
• 14 — damper bar
• 15 — finger, 25 Nm
• 16 — axle with shoulder, 25 Nm
• 17 — bolt, 20 Nm
• 18 — damper bar
• 19 — adjusting washer
• 20 — intermediate shaft

Caution: The sealing gaskets and rings must be replaced. Exception: if only the camshaft sprocket cover or the drive-side sealing flange have been removed, they can be reinstalled using VW sealant AMV 1 8800102.
