Place both thrust washers in the center bearing. Oil supply grooves must be directed towards the cylinder block. Place the crankshaft carefully into the bushings. If the connecting rods remain in the cylinders, then their lower heads should be brought to the connecting rod journals.
Insert the lower shells into the corresponding bearing caps with the locating lugs in the grooves, generously lubricate the friction surfaces with engine oil. Install both remaining thrust half rings in the center cover, lubricate them. The oil grooves of the half rings must face the crankshaft.
Install the crankshaft covers and tap them with a rubber or plastic hammer. Pay attention to the markings on the caps. It indicates their position during installation.
Screw in the cover bolts a few turns, starting from the central bearing. The main bearing bolts are finally tightened to a torque of 65 Nm. After tightening the bolts, rotate the crankshaft several times to check for jamming.
If there is jamming, then release the bearing caps one by one and, turning the shaft, find the cause of the jamming and eliminate it (usually this is dirt on and under the liner, less often an error when grinding the shaft or a liner defect) .
Recheck the crankshaft end play (see fig. 81).
Install pistons and connecting rods as described above. Install both crankshaft seals (see below).
Press the toothed pulley onto the crankshaft, lay the toothed belt and install the belt cover.
Install the flywheel using new bolts. Lubricate the threads of the bots with a fixing compound for threaded connections «D6». The tightening torque for bolts with a flange is 100 Nm and without a flange is 75 Nm. To block the shaft, you can use a piece of wood that is installed between the crankshaft crank and the wall of the cylinder block.
Install the clutch components and parts, focusing on the alignment marks. Clutch disc must be centered (chapter). Tighten bolts evenly «criss-cross» torque of 25 Nm.
Install the oil pump (chapter) and with the help of sealant a new gasket of the oil pan. Tighten the crankcase mounting bolts to a torque of 20 Nm.
Perform all other operations in the reverse order of disassembly.
