Installation
Thoroughly clean the seating surfaces. They must be free of oil and grease.
Note: Check the mating surfaces of the belt pulley, mounting bolt, bearing bush and crankshaft sprocket for oil and grease.
When using a new repair kit, install the diamond washer first (inner diameter 23 mm) to the stop on the neck of the crankshaft. Replace the crankshaft oil seal on the side of the belt pulley.
Push a new oil seal onto the dowel pins.
To facilitate installation, screw two M6x80 spacer bolts into the cylinder head and cylinder block.
Push the timing cover with crankshaft bearing sleeve onto the spacer bolts, dowel pins and crankshaft journal at the same time.
Tighten the timing cover mounting bolts evenly in a criss-cross pattern.
Make sure that the camshaft housing is not warped.
Torque:
- bolt M6 with 10 Nm,
- bolt M10 with 50 Nm.
Follow the method of tightening the poly V-belt gear bolt.
