1 - cork;
2 - magnetic stand;
3 — indicator.
Using the formula S=(A+B)-C, calculate the thickness of the adjusting ring of the bearings of the main drive pinion, where:
S — thickness of the adjusting ring;
A is the thickness of the spring washer, equal to 1.5 mm;
B is the amount of recession of the end face of the main gear drive pinion relative to the inner ring of the rear bearing;
C is the value of the preliminary tension of the bearings of the main drive pinion.
Example. The thickness of the spring washer is 1.5 mm. The measured value of the end face recession of the main drive pinion is 1.0 mm. The value of the preliminary tension of the main drive pinion bearings is 0.18 mm.
S=(1.5+1.0)-0.18=2.32 mm
In accordance with the table "Adjusting rings of the main drive pinion and main drive pinion shaft supplied as spare parts", determine the thickness of the adjusting ring.
Install the needle bearing, lubricate it with automatic transmission oil, the selected adjusting ring, spring washer and tighten the threaded plug to a torque of 25 kgf·m.
Measure the torque with the installed main gear drive pinion using a dynamometer with a 41 mm head (Fig. 4-77). placed on the nut at the end of the main gear drive pinion shaft. The torque for new roller bearings should be 1.8-2.2 N·m greater than the previously measured torque of the main gear drive pinion shaft. When installing worn-in bearings, the torque should be equal to that measured during disassembly.
