Remove the cover with the gear shift program switch and trim.
Remove the center console.
Loosen the stop bolt.
Disconnect the locking cable from the locking lever and remove the stop.
Remove the locking cable from the clamp (Fig. 4-66).

Remove the clamp for the instrument and starter switch key extraction lock cable.
Disconnect the cable from the ball joint. Remove the locking cable.
Warning: When installing the locking cable, pay attention to its correct position. The cable must not have any kinks. Adjust the cable after installation.

Install the locking cable on the vehicle and secure it with a clamp (Fig. 4-66). Attach the eye of the cable 1 (Fig. 4-67) to the lever "a". Attach the cable to the stop. Install the clamp on the cable. Slide the cable onto the ball joint. Slide the locking cable with the clamp into the instrument and starter switch.

Adjustment
Warning: Adjust the locking cable after installation.
Set the selector lever to position "1". Turn the instrument and starter switch key to the right until the starter is engaged and release it. By moving the cable sheath, adjust the gap a = 0.7 mm between lever 1 and pin 2 (Fig. 4-68). Without changing the position of the sheath, tighten the cable stop bolt to a torque of 0.6 kgf·m. Set the selector lever to position "P" and turn the instrument and starter switch key all the way to the left. The key should only be removed in this position. Remove the key, after which the selector lever should lock in position "P".
