Adjustment
Proper adjustment of the selector cable is essential to the normal operation of the automatic transmission, so follow the instructions below carefully Loosen the clip securing the end of the cable to the selector lever on the transmission (pic. K:1, K:2). Move the selector lever to position "R" ("parking") and make sure it fits snugly. Press the lever on the transmission to the left to the position "R" and tighten the cable clamp.
Check cable adjustment. To do this, set the selector lever to the position "N", bring the idle speed to 1000-1200 rpm, press the brake pedal and do the following:
- A) Move the handle to position "R", at the same time you should feel the inclusion of the gear and the drop in engine speed.
- b) Move the handle back to position "R", the engine speed should rise again, indicating that reverse is disengaged Move the handle to the "R" all the way to the blocker (without pressing the safety button on the handle) - Engine speed should not drop.
- V) Recheck (A).
- G) Move the handle to position "N", the gear should be disengaged and the engine speed increased.
- d) Move the selector lever to position "D", the gear should be engaged again, and the engine speed should decrease.
