The sports scheme is selected by quickly depressing the gas pedal (the pedal should not be pressed until the forced downshift system is activated - "kickdown". At "sports" When shifting, the engine power reserve is fully utilized by later shifting to the next gear during acceleration.
Pressing the gas pedal slowly or normally selects the economy mode. Economical engine operation is achieved by upshifting earlier during acceleration and later downshifting during deceleration.
Selector lever lock
The selector lever is locked in positions "R" And "N" with the ignition on. To remove the lever from this position, press the brake pedal and the lock button located on the lever. Such a device prevents unintentional movement of the vehicle.
The blocker retarder serves to ensure that when quickly moving through a position "N" (for example, from "R" To "D") lever is not locked. This allows "swing" stalled car. The blocker works only if the lever is held in the position when the brake pedal is not pressed "N" longer than 1 second.
At a speed exceeding 5 km / h, the blocker is in the position "N" turns off automatically.
Selector lever positions
R - parking: The transmission, and with it the drive wheels, are locked.
The lever can only be set to this position when the vehicle is at a complete stop. Before turning on and off the position "R" press the release button on the lever. With the ignition on, additionally press the brake pedal.
R - reverse: Reverse gear can only be engaged after the vehicle has come to a complete stop. Before setting the lever to the position "R" from the provisions "R" or "N" depress the brake pedal and the lock button on the lever. Pregnant "R" when the ignition is on, the reversing lights come on.
N - neutral position To move the lever out of position "N" at speeds below 5 km/h, and also with the vehicle at a standstill with the ignition on, press the brake pedal and the lock button on the lever.
D - automatic mode (movement under normal conditions): All four forward gears are automatically shifted depending on the speed and load on the engine. Under certain circumstances, it is preferable to temporarily set the lever to one of the positions described below.
3 - automatic mode, at which 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears are automatically switched; 4th gear will not engage. It is recommended to use in hilly terrain to increase engine braking on long, gentle descents, as well as in other conditions when "D" there is frequent shifting from 3rd to 4th gear.
2 - automatic mode at which 1st and 2nd gears are automatically switched; 3rd and 4th gears will not engage. It is recommended to use in mountainous areas to enhance engine braking on steep descents, as well as in other conditions when "D" or "3" frequent shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear (e.g. on a slippery or very muddy road).
1 - forced engagement of 1st gear; 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears are not included. Recommended for very steep ascents and descents, as well as for starting off on very slippery roads, "buildup" a stalled vehicle and other difficult conditions when further gear shifting is impractical. To set it to this position, you need to press the lock button on the lever. The cruise control device is not used in this position.
Indication
When the car is moving, you can move the lever to positions 3, 2 and 1. The automatic device will not allow you to exceed the maximum engine speed.
Downshift device (further - "kickdown")
Kickdown is used to engage a lower gear when the gas pedal is fully depressed, which provides maximum acceleration of the car. When you press the gas pedal to the stop, depending on the speed and engine speed, a shift to a lower gear occurs. Enable next (higher) transmission occurs only after the maximum engine speed has been reached.
Automatic Transmission Instructions
Engine starting. The engine can only be started with the lever positions "N" or "R", see also chapter "Engine starting".
Mode switching
Always depress the brake pedal before selecting a transmission mode with the vehicle stationary and the engine running.
During mode selection, do not press the gas pedal.
If, while driving, the selector lever is inadvertently set to the position "N", then before you set the lever to the position for moving forward, you should release the gas and wait for the engine speed to decrease to idling.
Attention: With the engine running and the selector lever in the drive position, the vehicle must be stopped and held in place with the brake pedal, as and when the engine is idling, the transmitted torque is sufficient to move the vehicle on level ground. If the selector lever of a stationary car is moved to the driving position, in no case should you press the gas pedal at this moment - in this case, the car will immediately start moving, even with the hand brake applied.
Before starting repair or adjustment work with the engine running, set the selector lever to position "R" and tighten the parking (manual) brake.
Start of movement
Select a mode, i.e. set the selector lever to one of the driving positions (R, D, 3, 2 or 1). Wait for the transmission mechanisms to operate (feel a slight jolt). After that, you can press the gas pedal - the car will immediately start moving.
Stop
When the vehicle is temporarily stopped (e.g. at a traffic light) it is not necessary to set the neutral position of the lever - it is enough to stop the car with the brake pedal. The engine must be running at idle.
Parking
On a flat road, it is enough to set the selector lever to the position "R", thereby blocking the transmission. On a sloping road, apply the handbrake first and then lock the transmission - this way the transmission's parking pawl does not get too much load and is easier to release.
Starting the engine by towing
In vehicles with automatic transmission, this method of starting the engine is not possible.
With a discharged battery, start the engine using the connecting wires and an external battery (e.g. battery of another vehicle - see chapter "starting the engine from an external battery".
Transportation of a damaged car
If the vehicle needs to be towed, follow the instructions in the relevant chapter.
Emergency mode
If the electronic control devices fail, the automatic transmission operates in emergency mode:
- In emergency mode, gears may still shift automatically, but more jolts are felt. In this case, you should contact the repair service.
- If - the gears stop changing automatically, they can be switched manually, while at the position of the selector lever "D", "3"And "2" only 3rd gear will be engaged. In lever positions "1" And "R" 1st gear and reverse work, respectively, as in normal mode. In this mode, the torque converter is under increased load (primarily due to the lack of 2nd gear) and may overheat, so contact the repair service immediately.
