Check if the tension is correct toothed belt.
Make sure the trigger link is not disconnected. The injection pump lever must be in its original position.
On the engine installed in the car, by rotating the crankshaft, set the TDC in the 1st cylinder so that the marks (pic. 239), as well as the marks on the injection pump pulley and the bracket turned out to be on the same line (see fig. 237). On the removed engine, set on scale A (pic. 240) special tool No. 2068A value 0.5 (Manual Transmission) or 85.0 mm (Automatic transmission) and insert tool B from the flywheel side.
Rotate the crankshaft until the TDC reference mark on the flywheel is aligned with end B of the special tool. The marks on the injection pump wheel and the bracket must also match.
The following operations require an indicator with a mandrel 2066 (pic. 241), which is screwed into the injection pump distributor head instead of the central bolt. Set the value on the indicator scale to approximately 2.5 Turn the crankshaft in the opposite direction to the direction of the arrow until the indicator arrow stops moving. In this position, set the indicator scale to zero with a preload of about 1 mm.
Now turn the crankshaft to the right until the mark on the flywheel is aligned with the mark on the housing. Determine the beginning of compression by the indicator, the readings of which should be 0.83-0.97 mm. When adjusting, it is necessary to set the moment of compression start corresponding to (0,90±0,02) mm.
To adjust, loosen the pump mounting bolts. After loosening both upper bolts of the pump flange and one bolt of the rear bracket, it is necessary to turn the pump pulley so that the lower bolt can be loosened through the hole in it (pic. 242).
Tilt the pump housing so that the indicator shows the value (0,90±0,02). It is necessary to strive for setting 0.90 mm, i.e. the nominal value.
Repeat the test several times, making sure that the indicator shows the same value each time. Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm.
Unscrew the indicator with the mandrel and install the center bolt with a new gasket. The tightening torque is 15 Nm.
