Removal and installation the cooling system pump (VW Tiguan 1)

Drain the coolant. Disconnect the fuel supply line "1" and the line to the activated carbon canister "2". Press the release buttons to do this.



Loosen the hose clamp "1" in the booster air pipe. Loosen the screw securing the booster air pipe "2". Remove the poly V-belt.



Press the safety clip on the intercooler in the direction of the arrow and remove the hose "arrow".



Unscrew the screw securing the charge air pipe "arrow" and remove the charge air pipe "1".





Remove the exhaust system inlet pipe. Carefully press outward the locking tabs in the housing of the noise insulation screen of the "arrow" compressor.



Remove the front part of the housing with the noise insulation screen. Remove the load from the compressor poly V-belt by turning the tensioner with a 16 mm wrench in the -direction of the arrow-. Secure the tensioner with the locking pin -T10060 A-.



Unscrew the tension element "arrow" fastening screws and remove the tension element. Hold the compressor shaft with spanner "1".




Remove the screw "2" of the belt pulley and remove the belt pulley and the poly V-belt on the compressor "3".



Loosen the screws of the cooling system pump with electromagnetic clutch of the compressor "N421" "arrows". Remove the cooling system pump with electromagnetic clutch of the compressor "N421" from the cylinder block.



Installation is performed in the reverse order. Insert the cooling system pump with the electromagnetic clutch of the compressor "N421" into the cylinder block. Tighten the bolts with a torque of 8 Nm. Fill with coolant.
