The fuel filter must be replaced every 30,000 km. Additionally, condensate must be removed from the filter after 12 months. The filter is located in the engine compartment next to the large air duct. To remove condensate, unscrew bolt 1 (pic. 231), installed in the bottom of the filter housing, as well as ventilation bolt 2. Drain about 200 cm3 fuel with water. Tighten the bolts again. If fuel does not flow out, the return hose must be removed from the high pressure fuel pump to allow air to enter the filter.
To replace the filter element of the filter, it is necessary to remove both hoses and, after loosening the mounting clamp, remove the element. Installation is in the reverse order. Arrows on the filter cover indicate the direction of fuel flow. Start the engine and press the accelerator pedal several times, the fuel should flow through the transparent hose without air bubbles.
