Adjusting the starting device (VW Golf 2)

Adjustment of the starting device, or more precisely the length of the cold start accelerator rod, is the same for Bosch and CAV pumps. If the rod has been removed, it must be reattached by putting on a round gasket 1 (figure 252) onto the shell and installing lock washer 2.



Connect the end of the cable to the device lever without fully tightening the clamping bolt.

Move the lever in the direction of the arrow until it stops and pull the cable out of the sheath. In this position, lock it with the clamping bolt.
