Their use is explained by the need to place the intermediate shaft pulley closer to the engine housing, the shape of the injection pump bracket was flatter. This should be taken into account when replacing the toothed pulley.
It should be remembered that in order to install the gas distribution phases, a special device is required, without which it is impossible to start work. Improper alignment of the camshaft in relation to the crankshaft can cause serious engine damage. A special tool is also needed to adjust the toothed belt tension. The service life of the toothed belt is 100,000 km if it has not been damaged before.
A constant belt tension is provided by an eccentric tensioner.
