2. After placing the vehicle on a flat surface, remove the level gauge and wipe it dry with a rag without torn edges. Insert it again and then take it out. The level must be between two marks on the measure. If the level is low, the fluid level must be topped up through the oil dipstick. It is necessary to check for leaks if you have to add oil very often. If during the inspection no external smudges are visible, it is necessary to check the final drive oil level. If it is very high, then it is quite possible that the gear oil is overflowing into the final drive housing. In this case, you must immediately contact the service station.
3. The difference in the amount of oil between the maximum and minimum signs on the level measure should be 0.4 liters.
4. Every 4500 it is necessary to change the oil in the automatic transmission and clean the oil sump and filter (if available). Under severe operating conditions, the oil must be changed more frequently.
5. Raise the car and place it on stands.
6. Unscrew the drain plug and drain the oil into a suitable container. If the drain plug is not installed, loosen the front oil sump bolts, then unscrew the rear bolts and lower the sump to drain the oil. Care must be taken not to scald.
7. Clean the crankcase from the inside.
8. Unscrew the filter cover, and then remove the filter and gasket.
9. Clean filter and cover.
10. Install the cover and filter together with a new gasket, tighten the bolts with the appropriate torque.
11. Install the oil sump with a new gasket and tighten the safety bolts with the appropriate torque. Lower the car.
12. First fill the automatic box with oil (2.5 l) for the gearbox, then start the engine.
Check if the handbrake is fully applied. Then install the gear selector in all gears in turn. Then set the lever to the position "N". With the engine running at idle, check the oil level. The oil level should be visible on the dipstick. Otherwise, the oil must be added so that it can be seen at least at the end of the measurement.
13. Drive a little to warm up the gear oil and check the level again. Top up if necessary. If after heating the oil level exceeds the maximum, it is necessary to drain the excess.
14. To check the oil level in the final drive assembly, the car must be above the inspection hole or raised parallel to the ground.
15. Unscrew the plug and check if the oil level is at the lower edge of the plug hole. Otherwise, it is necessary to add oil through the hole of the plug and re-screw the plug. Lower the car to the ground.
