Accelerator pedal drive in a car with an automatic transmission. The numbers indicate: 1 - the lever for adjusting the speed of the high-pressure fuel pump; 2 - idle stop; 3 - "full throttle" stop screw; 4 - idle spring; 5 - transition spring.
Set the control lever to position "P". Replace the pump cover.
Measure or set idle speed and maximum speed.
On the left, near the gearbox, unscrew the adjusting nut of the accelerator pedal rod; remove the accelerator pedal rod.
Remove the safety clip and support pad from the fuel pump speed control lever.
Set the stroke of the spherical head to 32±1 mm (from the idle stop to the full throttle stop) by moving the head in the elongated hole of the fuel pump speed adjustment lever.
Secure the support pad and safety clamp.
Loosen the locknuts of the cable support at the fuel pump.
Set the gearshift lever to neutral position.
Now pull the cable sheath back (go is to the left) near the fuel pump. Do not pull the idle spring.
In this position, tighten the support locknuts.
Reinstall the accelerator pedal linkage.
With the engine stopped, the assistant must now fully press the accelerator pedal (Kikdown).
Loosen the adjusting nut of the accelerator pedal rod at the bottom of the gearbox until the gearbox operating lever is fully pressed against the rear stop (that is to the left). The transition spring at the fuel pump must be spring loaded.
Retighten the pedal rod adjustment bolt.
The accelerator pedal rod must not be displaced.
If the accelerator pedal drive is properly adjusted, the following three conditions are met:
- 1. In the idle position, the fuel pump speed control lever should be pressed against the idle stop. The idle spring should not be tensioned: the gearbox operating lever should be in the neutral position:
- 2. In the "full throttle" position (the accelerator pedal is pressed almost to the end of pressure) the fuel pump speed control lever should be in contact with the "full throttle" stop, but the transition spring should not be in a taut state:
- 3. Fully press the accelerator pedal (Kikdown) - the gearbox operating lever should be in contact with the stop; the fuel pump transition spring must be tensioned.
