High pressure fuel pump firm "Bosch":
- unscrew the locknut of the idle speed adjustment screw;
- now the adjusting screw can be turned with a screwdriver;
- screwing in results in a higher number of revolutions, eversion inducing a lower number of revolutions.
High pressure fuel pump firm "Bosch": 1 - screw locknut (2) idle adjustment: position 3 indicates the screw "rev limiter", this screw must not be turned | The pipe-diesel engine has difficulty accessing the propeller (2) idle adjustment. Pump "Lucas-CAV", engine 1.5 l:
- unscrew the locknut of the idle speed stabilization screw;
- turn the screw counterclockwise until there is a gap.
- unscrew the locknut of the screw that regulates idling;
- set the number of revolutions and tighten the locknut again securely;
- turn the idle speed screw clockwise until the speed starts to increase;
- from this position, turn the screw back ½-1 turn and lock:
- briefly let the engine run at 2000 rpm. check the idle speed again.
Placement of screws that regulate idling at the pump "Lucas-CAV" 1.5L engine: 1 - idle adjustment screw; 2 - locknut, 3 - idle speed stabilization screw; 4 - screw that regulates the full load. This screw must not be turned.
Pump "Lucas-CAV", engine 1.6 l:
- unscrew the locknut of the adjusting screw;
- adjusting screw to set the number of revolutions;
- turn the locknut.
This is how the idle speed is regulated on a 1.6 liter engine with an English pump "Lucas-CAV". Position 2 is the lock nut, position 1 is the adjusting nut. Locking screw must not be turned (3) regulator lever.
For all high pressure fuel pumps, the following rule applies: never turn the full load adjustment screw or the regulator lever stop screw.
