Measuring angles when installing wheels (VW Golf 1)

An optical device is used to determine the angles when installing wheels. To perform the measurement, the tire pressure must correspond to the prescribed values, the car must be unloaded and adjusted. The front wheel suspension and steering gear parts must not have much play.
The table shows the prescribed values.

Front axle
Overall wheel alignment	-15'+15'-10'

Maximum permissible difference in wheel camber right/left.	1°
The difference in the toe angle when turning the wheels 20° to the left or right	-1°30'+30'

Rear axle

¹⁾ the values are not adjustable.

If the rear wheel position check reveals excessive deviations from the prescribed values, the axle must be completely replaced. Welding and adjustment work is not permitted.
