Use a powerful screwdriver to pry the thickening of the hub cover and evenly lift the cover.
The hub cap is best released from its place with a narrow but not too sharp chisel
Unbend the cotter pin, pull it out of the castellated nut.
Loosen hex nut SW 24; Remove pressure plate and outer wheel bearing.
pressure plate (1) under the hub nut (2) with correctly set bearing play, the wheel can move. The blade of the screwdriver should not rest on the brake drum.
Remove brake drum (see section "Removing the brake drum", chapter "brakes").
Raise the sealing ring on the inside of the brake drum; pull out the inner wheel bearing.
Clean both bearings and check for wear.
Also check the outer rings in the brake drum. If signs of wear are found, new rings should be pressed in.
Wheel bearings are lubricated and installed. The wheel hub cap is about 1/2 filled with grease.
The inner sealing ring is driven in with a plastic hammer.
Adjust the wheel bearing play as described in the next section.
