Raise the car onto supports.
Remove the wheel bearing.
For vehicles manufactured before August 1978: Turn the adjusting nut to move the brake shoes back.
Drum brake for models produced before August 1978: 1 - expansion rod; 2 - flat spring; 3 - tension spring; 4 - handbrake rod; 5 - locking spring; 6 brake shoe with lining; 7 - Adjusting toothed nut; 8 - wheel brake cylinder
For vehicles manufactured after August 1978: Remove the wheel bolt.
Rotate the disc or brake drum so that the hole for the wheel bolt is at the front top when viewed in the direction of travel.
Use a screwdriver to move the adjusting wedge upwards through the threaded hole, which will cause the brake pads to converge.
For vehicles manufactured in all years: remove the brake drum.
When assembling, adjust the wheel bearing play.
By pressing the brake pedal hard once, ensure that the linings are in contact with the drum.
