Self-adjusting drum brake models after August 1978: 1 - wheel brake cylinder; 2 - brake lining; 3 - tension spring with an adjusting wedge; 4 - lower coupling spring; 5 - hand brake lever; 6 - clamping spring; 7 - brake shoe.
Remove the brake drum as described above.
Pull out the large retaining spring from the side near the brake shoe. This will require combination pliers.
The spring should be held with the other hand, as it is under tension.
Remove the flat springs near the pads.
Remove the flat springs at the bottom.
Remove the brake pads from the lower support, as well as from the slots in the piston of the brake cylinder.
When installing, you need to loosen the handbrake cable when the brake pads are not yet installed.
