Put the car on stands at the rear so that the rear wheels hang freely.
Inside the car, remove the plastic cover of the handbrake lever.
For both handbrake links, unscrew the locknut.
Set the handbrake lever to the second position.
Tighten the adjusting nut on each side until until the corresponding wheel can no longer be manually rotated.
When turning the adjusting nut, hold the threaded part of the brake cable with a screwdriver (see fig.).
With cover removed (3) and unscrewed locknut (1) You can turn the adjusting nut with a wrench attached to it. Use a screwdriver to hold the appropriate cable (2), so that it doesn't twist.
Apply the handbrake several times and release.
Check whether both rear wheels can turn without resistance.
Lock the adjusting nuts.
