Removal the brake booster (VW Golf 1)

Remove the panel cover or storage compartment on the left, under the instrument panel (see section "Removal drawers and lids", chapter "Salon").

Remove the safety clip near the locking pin on the brake pedal lever; remove your finger.

Remove the vacuum hose near the booster.

Suck out the brake fluid and disconnect the brake lines as described above.

From the engine compartment side, unscrew the nuts of the brake booster stand and the brake master cylinder.

Remove the booster and master cylinder, as well as the retaining strut, from the engine compartment.

Remove the master brake cylinder.

Remove the rack from the brake booster.

When assembling, the pusher pin must be moved to the neutral position by the brake pedal and the pusher.

If this is not possible, loosen the pushrod fork lock nut.

Turn the fork until the finger holes are in the same plane.

Don't forget about the finger guard.

Bleed the brake system.
