Remove the adjusting wedge return spring.
Remove the brake shoes from the lower support and the piston of the wheel brake cylinder.
Remove the handbrake cable.
Remove the top and bottom tension springs.
Remove the adjusting wedge from the pressure rod.
Remove the support spring at the top from the pressure rod. If necessary, clamp the barbell in a vice.
When assembling, clamp the pressure rod in a vice.
Install the support spring in the pressure rod and at the brake pads. The correct installation of the spring is shown in the illustration.
bent end (see arrow) support spring (2) should point inwards if it is correctly inserted into the push rod (1)
Install the brake shoe near the bar. Insert the adjusting wedge from above. Its protrusion should be directed towards the block.
Insert the brake lever of the second brake shoe into the depression of the push rod.
Install the top return spring.
Attach the handbrake cable to the brake lever.
