Remove the hub cap, cotter pin and toothed stop.
Select the clearance in the hub bearings by firmly tightening the hub hex nut while rotating the brake drum.
Loosen the hub nut slightly so that you can use a screwdriver to press your finger and turn the locking washer without applying significant force.
If the slot in the nut does not match the hole for the cotter pin, tighten the nut to the nearest hole for the cotter pin.
Secure the hub nut with a cotter pin.
Install the hub cap.
Install the rear wheel.
