Rear wheel bearing housing: 1 - wheel bolt, 140 Nm; 2 - bolt, 10 Nm; 3 - brake disc; 4 - wheel hub bolt; 5 - washer; 6 - wheel hub; 7 - retaining ring of the bearing; 8 - wheel bearing; 9 - bolt, 10 Nm; 10 - reflector; 11 - bolt, 10 Nm; 12 - ABS speed sensor; 13 - nut, 200 Nm; 14 - gear rim; 15 - bolt, 110 Nm; 16 - spring clip; 17 - brake caliper
The location of the wheel bearing is shown in fig. 308.
Remove the trailing arm and then replace the wheel bearing. Before clamping the wheel bearing housing in a vise, remove the brake disc and deflector.
The wheel hub is held in the wheel bearing housing with a bolt at the front and a nut at the rear. Under the nut is a gear rim, which serves to obtain information about the wheel speed by the ABS sensor. A removed wheel bearing cannot be used a second time, i.e. The wheel bearing must not be removed, for example, in order to check its condition.

After pressing out the wheel hub, remove the bearing circlip and press out the bearing. The inner ring of the bearing remains on the wheel hub and is removed in the same way as shown in fig. 290 for the front wheel hub. Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of the removal process. Press the wheel bearing and wheel hub flange into the wheel bearing housing. If it is not possible to use a press, then you can press the parts into the wheel bearing housing in the manner shown in fig. 309. Although the figure shows a special tool, you can easily make such a device yourself.
Be sure to check that the bearing circlip is properly seated in its place. The self-locking nut, like many other parts, must be replaced. While holding the bolt in a fixed position, tighten it with a torque of 200 Nm. The wheel bearing housing must be firmly clamped in the vise for this.
The wheel bearing can be replaced on an installed rear trailing arm, but a special tool is required to remove and install the wheel hub and wheel bearings.
