- for the correct positioning of the gasket in the places where the bolts are fastened «12» and «20» two guides are inserted on the cylinder block;
- install the cylinder head and tap it with a plastic or rubber mallet. To prevent the valves from contacting the piston crowns, set the No. 1 cylinder piston to TDC and rotate the crankshaft 90°against the direction of rotation. Due to this, all pistons will be located below the TDC position;
- insert the cylinder head bolts and tighten them by hand;
Pic. 52. Cylinder head bolt tightening sequence
- according to the sequence shown in Fig. 52, gradually tighten all the cylinder head bolts, first to 40 Nm and finally to 60 Nm; in the sequence shown, insert the wrench into each bolt, remembering the position of the knob, and tighten each bolt in one go exactly one half turn or twice a quarter turn;
Note. In order not to damage the cylinder head bolts when tightening, use only a special, multi-sided wrench that looks like a hexagon.
- in accordance with the previously marked marks, put the camshaft drive chain on both sprockets or adjust its position (see subsection 2.8);
- install the cylinder head cover together with the gasket;
Attention! Always install a new seal. Pay attention to the correct installation of the gasket to avoid oil leakage.
- install the top part of the inlet pipeline. First connect both halves of the pipeline, and then screw its upper part onto the brackets;
- carry out the remaining operations in the reverse order of removal, guided by the assembly drawings;
- after completion of all operations, fill the liquid into the cooling system;
- put on the V-belt of the engine assemblies and tension it (see section «electrical equipment»).
