Note: Replace the sealing gaskets each time the cylinder head is removed.
Install a new cylinder head gasket with the "oben" ("top") mark facing the plane of the head.
Insert bolts 8 and 10 (see photo) into the cylinder head holes or screw the mounting studs into the holes for these bolts in the cylinder block, then install the cylinder head.
Install new washers and cylinder head bolts.
Gradually tighten the cylinder head mounting bolts, following the order shown (see photo), in three steps:
- 1st reception: 4 kgs m;
- 2nd reception: 6 kgf·m;
- step 3: Turn 180°.
Install the camshaft drive belt as described above.
Check and, if necessary, adjust the valve clearances.
Install the alternator drive belt, tension bar and adjust the belt tension.
Install the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe flange.
Reinstall the intake manifold and carburetor.
Connect the cooling and heating system hoses to the cylinder head.
Install the cylinder head cover.
Attach the vacuum hoses to the carburetor, connect the plug connectors, connect the electrical wires and the throttle cable.
Install the air filter.
Install spark plugs and high tension wires.
Fill the engine cooling system with coolant.
Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
Start the engine and check its operation, and if necessary, adjust the ignition timing, engine idle speed, and valve clearances.
