To check injection duration:
- disconnect the connectors of the control pressure regulator and the idle speed stabilization valve;
- disconnect the starter injector connector;
- connect a voltmeter to the terminals of the starting injector block;
- turn on the starter for a short time and fix the voltage on the voltmeter, which should be at least 11.5 V;
- connect the starter injector connector;
- turn on the starter and check the duration of fuel injection, which should be at a temperature of -10°C: 4.9 s; 0°С: 3.0-7.5 s; 10°С: 2.0-5.8 s; 20°C: 1.0-3.8 s; 30°C: 0-2.0 s; 40°C: 0 s;
- if the injection duration values deviate from the norm, check the thermal time switch and the starting injector. To check the fuel spray cone, disconnect the high-voltage wire from the ignition distributor and connect it to «weight» body through an extension;
- disconnect the connector of the thermal time relay and connect with «weight» conclusion «2» (green-white wire) (pic. 2-189);
- remove the starter injector from the intake manifold. without disconnecting the pads and the fuel line from it;
- place the starter nozzle over a suitable container and rotate the engine crankshaft. In this case, the nozzle must spray fuel in the form of a regular cone (pic. 2-190);
- check the tightness of the injector. To do this, wipe its sprayer dry and observe the nozzle. Within a minute, drops of fuel should not flow out of the atomizer of the nozzle.
