Checking the control pressure on a cold engine (VW Passat B4)

This check is performed on a cold engine with a coolant temperature of 20-30°C.

Disconnect the control pressure regulator connector. Open the pressure gauge valve. Start the engine at idle speed. Determine the control pressure on the pressure gauge depending on the coolant temperature (table 2-28). If the control pressure is not within the specified limits, determine the cause using Table 2-28 and correct the problem.
