Warm up the engine to operating temperature and stop it.
Connect pressure gauge as above. Start the engine at idle and let it run until the required fuel pressure of 3.4-3.8 kgf/cm is reached2 in system.
Set the pressure gauge cock to the position for measuring the fuel flow pressure and record the value of the control pressure on the pressure gauge. Switch off the ignition and check how much the fuel pressure will drop after 10 and 20 minutes. The pressure should drop to 2.6 kgf/cm2 after 10 minutes and up to 2.4 kgf/cm2 20 minutes after turning off the ignition.
If the residual pressure is not within the specified limits, determine the cause in Table 2-26 and repair the problem.
