Checking the fuel pressure in the system when the engine is stopped (VW Passat B4)

Warm up and stop the engine. Connect the pressure gauge as described above. Start the engine and set the pressure gauge valve to the "Closed" position. Measure the fuel pressure, turn off the ignition and immediately note the pressure on the pressure gauge again, which should not fall to 3 kgf/cm².

If the control pressure is not within the specified limits, determine the cause using Table 2-26 and correct the problem.
