Checking the mixture enrichment during acceleration with a cold engine (VW Passat B4)

Make sure the starting injector is working properly. Disconnect the connector from the starting injector and connect the test lamp to the terminals of the injector block.

Disconnect the thermal time relay connector and connect terminal "2" with the green-white wire to the ground (fig. 2-189).

Warning: Do not connect terminal "1" with the red-black wire to ground, as this will cause a short circuit.

Start the engine at idle speed. The control lamp should not light. Open the throttle valve sharply. The control lamp should light for about 0.4 sec.
