Checking and adjusting the idle speed of a cold engine (VW Transporter T3)

Checking or adjusting the throttle gap or idle speed of a cold engine is done when transient processes are disrupted when gas is supplied or when the cold engine has poor throttle response. The following points should be taken into account before adjusting:

Oil temperature not less than 60°C.

Check the ignition timing adjustment.

Check the idle speed adjustment.



Start the engine. Set the limit screw to the third stage.

Adjust the speed with the limit screw (1). For the specified value, see Table "Basic data of the carburetor".
