Removal and installation the intake pipe with the carburetor (VW Transporter T3)

Note: Secure all hoses with clamps so that the clamps can be removed without removing the engine. Replace gaskets.

Removal



Remove the air filter.

Label and disconnect the vacuum hoses from the carburetor.

Mark and disconnect the fuel hoses from the carburetor.

Mark and disconnect the electrical wires from the air circulation shut-off valve, the automatic engine start system and the intake manifold heater.

Disconnect the throttle cable from the carburetor, pull out the throttle cable latch, and pull the throttle cable out of the mount.

Unscrew the water pipe bracket, the pipe cannot be removed.

Disconnect all vacuum hoses from the intake manifold.

Loosen the intake pipe mounting bolts and remove the intake pipe.

Cover the intake pipe inlet with a clean cloth.

Installation



Insert the intake manifold with new gaskets onto the cylinder heads. Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm.

Connect all vacuum hoses to the intake manifold and tighten their clamps.

Unscrew the water pipe bracket.

Insert the throttle cable into the mount and secure with the latch.



Adjust the throttle cable.

Connect the electrical wires to the air circulation shut-off valve, the automatic engine start system and the intake manifold heater.

Connect the fuel hoses in accordance with the markings and secure them with clamps.

Connect the vacuum hoses in accordance with the markings and secure them with clamps.

Install the air filter.

Check and, if necessary, adjust the idle speed.
