Examination
To check: the engine must be cold.
Use an ohmmeter to check the resistance between the disconnected wire -1- and ground. Set value: 0.25-0.50 ohm.
Check supply voltage between wire -2- and ground. Set value: not less than 11.5 volts.
If there is a deviation from the specified values, replace the intake pipe heater.
Removing
Remove air filter.
Remove carburetor.
Remove nut -1- and bolt -2-.
Loosen the intake manifold bolts on the cylinder heads.
Raise the intake pipe and remove the 3 heater bolts.
Place a block of wood under the intake pipe.
Carefully drive the heater out of the intake pipe with a plastic mallet (arrow).
Disconnect the electrical wire from the heater.
Installation
Moisten the rubber sealing ring of the coolant inlet pipe heater, this will facilitate installation.
Insert intake pipe heater with new O-ring and secure with 3 bolts (7 nm).
Fasten the intake pipe with new gaskets to the cylinder heads with a bolt tightening torque of 20 Nm.
Connect the electrical wires of the intake pipe heater.
Screw on water pipe, bolts -1- and -2-.
Install carburetor.
Install the air filter.
