Checking the intake manifold pressure sensor (VW Polo 3)

During self-diagnosis, the fault code "00519 Intake manifold pressure sensor" was determined.

1. Disconnect wiring connector 1 from the intake manifold pressure sensor with intake air temperature sensor 2 (Fig. 3.33).



2. Connect the V AG 1598/18 tester to the engine control unit wiring harness (Fig. 3.34).



3. Check the wires between the tester and the connector for open circuit according to the wiring diagram: pin 3 + socket 37, pin 4 + socket 18. Wire resistance: max. 1.5 ohms.

4. Additionally, check the wires for short circuits to each other: to the vehicle ground and to the positive terminal of the battery.

Specification resistance: ∞ Ohm.

5. If no fault is found in the wiring, replace the intake manifold pressure sensor with the intake air temperature sensor.
