Mono-Jetronic, Mono-Motronic
To improve the dynamic properties during engine warm-up, an electric heater is installed in the intake manifold. The heater heats up in a matter of seconds and gives off its heat to the fuel-air mixture. The heater consists of the actual heating element (hedgehog) and a thermal switch located at the coolant pipe on the cylinder head, see chapter "Cooling system".
