Air filter
1. Intake air duct with adjustable intake air heating damper; 2. Hose to warm air trap on exhaust manifold; 3. Filter element; 4. Air filter housing; 5. Rubber washer; 6. Air inlet. Pay attention to the installation: the arrows on the air duct and the nozzle must match.; 7. CO potentiometer with intake air temperature sensor. Measure the resistance between pins 2 and 3. For the required value, see subsection 2.18.6; 8. Ring; 9. CO adjustment screw; 10. Cork; 11. Connecting plug; 12. Temperature controller. Installation location: connecting tube made of bronze or knurled is on top; 13. Air filter housing; 14. Airflow guide; And – the Air hose for connection of an inlet air line and the valve of stabilization of idling; B - Vacuum hose to the branch of the vacuum pipeline between the throttle valve and the interior of the car. Only available on vehicles with M equipment
Air heating is controlled by an air damper in the intake air pipe and depends on the temperature. If the air heating is faulty, the following faults may occur:
- low idling in the warm-up phase;
- poor acceptance;
- insufficient power, maximum speed is not reached;
- high fuel consumption.
1. Check the reliability of fastening of the vacuum hoses from the vacuum regulator to the temperature regulator and from the temperature regulator to the throttle valve nozzle.
2. Check hoses by bending for cuts and porosity, replace if necessary.
3. Remove the air filter housing and remove the filter element.
4. Check the position and ease of movement of the adjusting flap in the air filter housing by feeling or using mirrors. The damper must cover the warm air duct (1).
5. Remove the vacuum hose from the temperature controller and connect the hand vacuum pump.
6. Create a vacuum with the pump and check the operation and ease of movement of the regulating flap. The damper must cover the cold air inlet (2) (see fig. in paragraph 4).
7. Start the engine and let it run at idle.
8. Put on the vacuum hose (3) onto the bronze or knurled connecting tube and check the temperature controller (see fig. in paragraph 4).
Attention! With the engine running, the position of the regulating flap begins to depend on the heating of the temperature controller after at least 20 seconds:
- below 20°C: temperature regulator open, cold air outlet closed;
- above 30°C: temperature controller closed, hot air outlet closed;
- between 20–30°C: cold and warm air vents open.
9. Install the filter element into the air filter housing.
10. Install the air filter.
