Checking the condition of the poly V-belt (VW Touareg 1)

Check if the poly V-belt has any breaks in the carrier layer (tears, breaks in the middle, transverse breaks); peeling of layers (top layer, working surface); torn parts of the supporting layer; wear of the working surface and edges (material wear, frayed/sticking edges, edge hardening, glassy edges, surface cracks), as well as the presence of traces of oil and lubricants (Fig. 2.1).

NOTE: If any defects are found, be sure to replace the poly V-belt. This will prevent possible malfunctions and failure of some functions. Replacing the poly V-belt is a repair measure.
