Removing the right side engine cover
Remove cover 2.
Remove the engine cover from the mounts (arrows in figure 2.10) and pull it up.
Removal of the central casing of a motor compartment (6-cylinder petrol engine)
Unclip engine covers 1 and 2 and pull them up (pic. 2.11).
ATTENTION: When installing the engine cover, namely when fixing it to the attachment points, do not use brute force and do not use a tool. Otherwise, the engine cover may be damaged.
Removal of the central casing of a motor compartment (10 cylinder diesel engine)
Remove dipstick 2 for measuring the oil level.
Unclip the cover 1 from the fasteners (arrows in figure 2.12) and lift it up.
Installation
Install the engine cover 1 on the attachment points and press it until the latches click into place.
Don't forget to install the oil dipstick.
Removal of the central casing of a motor compartment (6-cylinder TDI common rail diesel engine)
First, remove the engine cover with both hands in front (relative to the direction of travel) (arrows in figure 2.13), then lift it up with both hands from behind (in the area of the engine compartment wall).
NOTE: Do not jerk the engine cover when removing.
When removing the engine cover, install it evenly.
Installation
Position the engine cover on the mounting points, pay attention to the oil filler pipe and dipstick.
Push the engine cover at the attachment points at the front and rear until the latches click into place.
