Digifant control unit and lambda probe
1. Ground connection. Attached to body
2. Connecting plug. Disconnect the plug only when the ignition is switched off
3. Digifant control unit. Controls the injection and ignition system, idle speed stabilization valve, lambda control, ignition timing adjustment. Installation location - in the engine compartment on the left in the direction of travel. After replacing the control unit, the throttle valve potentiometer must be adjusted to the new control unit 4. Plug connection for lambda probe and lambda probe heater. Installation location: on the attachment bracket on the right in the direction of travel. Lambda control: contact (3 - lilac). Check the voltage supply for heating the lambda probe with the engine running between the contacts (1 - red / black) And (2 - brown). Required value: battery voltage (12 V). Check with an ohmmeter the white lambda probe heating wires on the lambda probe plug
5. Lambda probe. Installation location: on the front exhaust pipe near the flange. Lubricate the thread with VWG65 grease. The grease must not get into the slotted area of the lambda probe housing
F - vacuum hose to the check valve of the brake booster
Checking work
1. Turn on the ignition.
2. Valve (1) idle stabilization should vibrate and buzz. If not, check adjustment.
3. Switch off the ignition.
4. Disconnect plug from valve and check valve resistance. See resistance in subsection 2.18.8.
5. If the values do not match, replace the valve. Otherwise, find and repair a break in the wiring to the control unit according to the wiring diagram.
Adjustment check
1. Check conditions: engine oil temperature is at least 80°C, idle speed is adjusted correctly. The air intake system is sealed.
2. Check control current. To do this, connect an ammeter.
3. Start the engine and let it idle.
4. After about 1 minute three times "give gas" (with revolutions each time slightly above 3000 rpm) and measure current at idle. For required value, see subsection 2.18.8.
5. Disconnect the connector from the coolant temperature sensor (arrow). measure current (required value, see subsection 2.18.8).
6. If the test conditions are met, but the values do not match, then, as a rule, the Digifant control unit is faulty.
7. Interrogate the memory and erase the record. As a result of disconnecting the plug (arrow) from the temperature sensor, a fault has been stored in the memory.
Attention! The idle speed stabilizer control current depends on the engine load while the engine is idling. As a result of the following loads, the control current can fluctuate between 400-1000 mA:
- cold engine;
- the air conditioner is on;
- electrical consumers are switched on;
- power steering: steering wheel turned;
- the idle speed adjusting screw is screwed up to the stop;
- incorrect ignition timing.
