Before checking, it is recommended to interrogate the memory device for fault codes, see above.
When system measurements of components are to be performed, the sequence given in the table must be followed. The given measured values were obtained using a digital multimeter VAG 1315 or VAG 1526. Other values may be obtained when using other multimeters with different internal resistances.
The car battery must be charged and properly connected.
Check fuse #18 and replace if necessary.
Check the fuel pump and fuel pump relay, see below.
Check the reliability of the connection between the engine ground and the vehicle body ground.
Turn off the ignition.
Disconnect the plug connector from the Mono-Jetronic system control unit (on the left under the water drainage casing). At the same time, squeeze and pull back the wire fixing clamps.
The contacts of the plug block are numbered. Measure the resistance between the indicated contacts. Make sure that the contacts are not damaged during the measurements. Perform the check in accordance with the table.
